Maathar Sangam
The Maathar Sangam is the Women's organisation of the Sangam. Maathar means women.
It is very active and necessary part of the Sangam, and is one of the strongest parts of the organisation.
Activities include holding regular meetings, taking part in Cultural and Sporting activities, holding Social evenings, organising Fundraising functions, running Cooking Classes, organising and running of Netball Tournaments and Teams, and supporting the T.I.S.I. Sangam in its activities.
Membership is made up women of South Indian descent above the age of eighteen (18) years. Any women who is married to a South Indian man is also eligible for membership to the Maathar Sangam.
The National President of Maathar Sangam automatically becomes a Vice-President of the National T.I.S.I. Sangam.
The various Maathar Sangam branches are active members of the Sangam Sports Council, which helps organise and manage the various sports teams and sports competitions.
Netball Teams are the backbone of the Maathar Sangam. Netball and Volleyball are the most popular sports amongst Sangam women.
